Cutting Edge Software was founded in 2025 by Mike Granby and Doyle Taylor to take their Nova software platform to the broader industrial market. Nova has been deployed on Monico’s secure data routers for several years, providing reliable data collection and analytics to operators of large engines and machinery. But it was always built to be much more, and Cutting Edge was created to offer that same power, performance and ease-of-use to systems integrators and end users alike.
Mike Granby is recognized as a thought leader and innovator in industrial communications, having founded his own operator panel in the UK in the 1990s before moving to the United States to become President of Red Lion Controls. There, Mike architected and developed the company’s Crimson® software package, and provided the vision that drove the company’s growth. After leaving Red Lion in 2017, Mike has continued to drive innovation in the industrial controls market, working with Monico to develop what would become the Nova platform.
Doyle Taylor is the founder of Monico Monitoring, and a recognized expert in delivering high-value analytics to operators of industrial equipment. Under Doyle’s leadership, Monico has provided solutions to companies across the world, helping them reduce maintenance costs and increase the utilization of their assets. Doyle is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has a life-long passion for delivering customer-focused solutions.
